What this site stores
- If you sign in with Google: your name and email address from Google, so the site knows which toolbox is yours.
- Your toolbox: the tools and wishlist items you add, including part numbers, prices you enter, notes, and where you keep them.
- Your photos: any photos you upload of your tools.
- Store prices you add: when you add or update a store price, we keep a record of which account added it and when, so a wrong price can be traced and undone.
If you use the site without signing in, your toolbox stays in your own browser and nothing about it is saved by us. The site does send the part numbers you track to look up shared store prices.
Who can see it
Only you can see your toolbox. Other people can see the shared store prices for part numbers, but not who owns which tools or who added a price. Photos you upload are only shown on your own cards; other people see BoxTally's drawing of the tool instead. Photos are stored at hard-to-guess web addresses so they can show up on your cards.
Where it's kept
Your data is stored with Supabase, the database service this site uses. We don't sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it for anything other than running your tracker.
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views (which pages, rough location by country, browser type) so we can see how many people use it. It doesn't use cookies or track individual visitors.
Store prices
Store prices are added by the people who track each tool, after checking Snap-on's online store, so they can be out of date.
Photos
Every tool shows a drawing made for BoxTally until you add a photo. A photo you upload replaces the drawing on your own card only; nobody else sees it.
Only upload photos you took yourself of your own tools. Don't upload photos copied from Snap-on's store, catalogs or other websites.
Trademarks
BoxTally is an independent tracker and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Snap-on Incorporated. Snap-on® is a registered trademark of Snap-on Incorporated. Other marks belong to their owners and are used only to name the tools people track.
Deleting your data
You can delete any tool or photo yourself on the site. To delete your whole account and everything in it, email contact@boxtally.app from the address you signed in with.
